ROLE

Marmot Outdoor Gear is a leading player in outdoor apparel and equipment, emphasizing high-quality products with an eco-friendly focus. Known for their resort to backcountry gear, Marmot prioritizes people, product, and the planet, producing the highest quality with environmentally conscious practices.

BACKGROUND

Establishing a cohesive brand message with Marmot’s Amazon presence was a challenge within the competitive amazon category of outdoor apparel. We recognized the necessity for improved brand alignment between Amazon and their strategic objectives. Our company was contracted to enhance their presence on Amazon with the goal of expanding and optimizing sales through this channel.

I actively communicated with the client, presented our research findings, and collaborated closely with their marketing team. Leveraging Marmot’s existing assets, I designed captivating layouts for Marmot products to enhance their presentation.

GOALS

In collaboration with Marmot Outdoor Gear, we conducted thorough research to strategize a solid Amazon presence, aligning it seamlessly with the brand’s identity. Creating detailed wireframes and refining them with the marketing team, we focused on highlighting innovative technologies, use cases for their apparel, and eco-friendly materials.

AMAZON PLATFORM

Our efforts led to a robust Amazon storefront that authentically showcased Marmot’s brand recognition.

The designed product listings emphasized technology, features, and specific use cases relevant to the target audience, whether resort or backcountry targeted.

Additional listing information effectively conveyed brand messaging, including details about the Marmot brand history and range of seasonal specific outdoor apparel.

RESULTS

Our strategy yielded positive results as key products gained recommendation status and achieved high search rankings, with Marmot’s Rain Gear experiencing reduced returns and improved sizing accuracy. The project showcased clear and tangible improvements in aligning Marmot’s website with Amazon.

The successful alignment on the Amazon platform significantly increased Marmot’s brand presence across all channels. This not only resulted in outperforming competitors on Amazon but also expanded Marmot's popularity beyond their initial outdoor apparel reputation. The brand gained traction in leisure wear verticals, particularly in rainwear and women’s down coats, marking a testament to the project's overall success in enhancing brand awareness and sales performance.
